Seven new BC riding level polls are out from Insights West for the Dogwood Initiative.
The takewaway is in the top line: “The NDP holds on to first place in four ridings, as the Liberals show positive momentum in three others.” In other words, in those three ridings, Vancouver South, Vancouver North and West Vancouver-Sunshine Coast-Sea to Sky Country, to Stop Harper, you should vote Liberal.
In the other four, South Okanagan-West Kootenay, Courtenay-Alberni, Esquimalt-Saanich-Sooke, Burnaby-North Seymour, if they want to Stop Harper now, voters should pick the NDP. But it is further important to note that the margin of error is 5.6% – 19 times out of 20. So only in two ridings, Esquimalt-Saanich-Sooke and Vancouver South, are the differences between the top contenders bigger than the margin of error.
Also of great interest is that the Green Party results in all cases do not put them anywhere close to victory, or even second place except in Esquimalt, even giving them all the “benefit” of the margin of error.
Further, about a quarter of the people in each riding say they have not yet made up their minds. And it does not appear whether the poll checked that these potential voters actually intended to go to the polls and vote.
