WHAT: A rally to protect Unist’ot’en Territory

In light of recent attempts by RCMP to force their way into unceded Unist’ot’en territory and the murder of James Daniel McIntyre at the hands of police at Site C dam open house in Dawson Creek last week, we are standing up to say enough.
Freda Huson, spokesperson for the Unist’ot’en Clan of the Wet’suwet’en Nation, has maintained a checkpoint at the bridge into her territory for the last six years. “I am not demonstrating. I am not protesting. I am occupying our traditional homelands.”
The RCMP protect industry. The Unist’ot’en are protecting the people. They’re preventing oil spills like the 5-million-litre Nexen spill in Alberta last week. They’re protecting the salmon, staple food of nations across the province. They drink from the Wedzin Kwa, one of a dwindling number of clean rivers.
Join us to hear from those who have been there and learn about how powerful life on the land has been.
The police have no jurisdiction on unceded land. We demand accountability and we stand in solidarity with the Unist’ot’en Camp.
