Peace River, BC – The land and river that will be permanently altered by this dam, is so special ,for so many reasons. It is premium land for growing crops,as well as a major passage way for fish and animals migrating north and south. It supplies us with a beautiful area to visit and fish , which can be hard to find in the North Peace. It supplies a huge amount of spiritual energy to this area , which I'm sure a lot of people aren't necessarily aware of, but I am. The Peace River already has 2 dams on it, which of course have left a big mess behind , if you ask me. There is also a deep fault line underneath this area , which makes the safety of the whole project questionable to me. The banks of the Peace are not stable and with the climate changing and water levels swinging from very high to very low, it seems to me there would be smarter ways to create more energy . The existing two dams could be upgraded to produce more power. These are just some of my reasons, the most important personally being, I'm on this planet to be her Caretaker and I take that very seriously, especially during these times.
