Cold Lake, Alberta, January 16, 2013- In solidarity with actions across the country today, Cold Lake First Nation Members will be setting up a peaceful demonstration on Highway 55 at the traffic circle, north of Ardmore, during the hours of 8-4pm.

The Peaceful demonstration will begin with set up of a Tipi at the location followed by a water ceremony led by elders.  Throughout the day, motorists will be stopped and given brochures containing information about the Idle No More Movement and why Bill C-45 should concern everyone.

We the Indigenous grassroots people of this land support Idle No More.  We are standing with Indigenous and Non Indigenous Nations worldwide to voice stewardship for the protection of Water and the environment.

We urge the Federal Government to rescind Bill C-38 and Bill C-45.
We continue to have concerns about the inability to exercise our treaty rights to Hunt, Fish and Trap on the Air Weapons Range, which was recognized in a Lands Claim to be a part of the Cold Lake First Nation Traditional Territory, this is due to extreme activity and rapid negative effect on the environment, including Water.
